दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में उपराष्ट्रपति ने किया भारत को फिर से विश्वगुरु बनाने का आह्वान

दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के शताब्दी समारोह का उद्घाटन भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति एवं दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति माननीय एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने दीप प्रज्वलित करके किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यातिथि के तौर पर अपने उद्घाटन उद्बोधन में उन्होने भारत को पुन: विश्वगुरु बनाने में दिल्ली विश्वविद्याल्य से अपनी महती भूमिका निभाने का आह्वान भी किया। समारोह में उनके साथ विशिष्ट अतिथि के तौर पर केंद्रीय शिक्षा और कौशल विकास एवं उद्यमिता मंत्री धर्मेन्द्र प्रधान मौजूद रहे। समारोह की अध्यक्षता दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रो. योगेश सिंह ने की।
गौरतलब है कि दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना एक मई 1922 को हुई थी और एक मई 2022 को विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना के शताब्दी समारोह का आयोजन डीयू परिसर में किया गया था। समारोह के दौरान मुख्यातिथि एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने अतीत में भारत की शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में वैश्विक शाख की चर्चा करते हुए नालंदा, तक्षशिला विक्रमशिला आदि विश्वविद्यालयों के उदाहरण दिये जहां कि दुनिया के कोने कोने से विद्यार्थी शिक्षा ग्रहण करने आते थे। उन्होने भविष्य में भारत के फिर से विश्वगुरु बनने में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय का आह्वान किया। उन्होने कहा कि हमें विश्वगुरु बनना है लेकिन किसी पर कब्जा करना हमारा उद्देश्य नहीं और न ही हमने अतीत में कभी ऐसा किया है। दूसरों को खुशी देना और वैश्विक शांति ही हमार उद्देश्य है। उन्होने बताया कि दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय का स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में भी अहम योगदान रहा है।
मुख्यातिथि ने कहा कि शिक्षा ज्ञान को बढ़ाने का माध्यम है। उन्होने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय केवल शिक्षा के केंद्र न बनकर उत्कृष्टता के केंद्र बनें। हमें ज्ञान के केंद्र बनना है और दुनिया के सर्वोत्त्म 10 संस्थानों में शुमार होना है। हमें गरीबी तथा अशिक्षा पर काबू पाना है और गांव व शहर की दूरी को पाटना है। इसके लिए विश्वविद्यालयों को नेतृत्व करना होगा। राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 का ब्लूप्रिंट सही मायनों में पठन व पाठन के समग्र विकास के साथ शिक्षा के परिदृश्य को बदलेगा और नए आयाम स्थापित करेगा। उन्होने क्षेत्रीय शिक्षा और मातृभाषा को बढ़ावा देने का आह्वान करते हुए कहा कि इसके लिए नई शिक्षा नीति में प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा का प्रावधान मातृभाषा में किया गया है।
उन्होने संस्कृति व प्रकृति के संरक्षण पर भी ज़ोर दिया। कोरोना महामारी के दौर का उदाहरण देते हुए उन्होने कहा कि इस महामारी के दौरान गांव के क्षेत्रों में कम प्रभाव देखने को मिला जबकि शहरों में लोग महामारी से अधिक प्रभावित हुए। उसके पीछे उन्होने ग्रामीण लोगों के प्रकृति के नजदीक रहने और मेहनत करने का कारण बताया। उन्होने शारीरिक श्रम पर ज़ोर देते हुए कहा कि इससे मानसिक चुस्ती बनती है।
उपराष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि वैसे तो भारत में सब कुछ उपलब्ध है, लेकिन फिर भी जो देश से बाहर जाना चाहते हैं, वो वहां जाएँ, सीखें और वापिस आकर भारत में शोध को बढ़ावा दें। शोध का लक्ष्य रिफॉर्म, प्रोफोर्म ओर ट्रांसफ़ोर्म होना चाहिए जिससे कि लोगों की ज़िंदगी सुविधाजनक और खुशहाल बन सके। यही शिक्षा का उद्देश्य होना चाहिए। उन्होने डीयू से आह्वान किया कि शोध को और बढ़ावा देने के साथ-साथ अपनी वैश्विक रेंकिंग को और बेहतर बनाएँ। इसके साथ ही उन्होने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के 100 वर्ष पूरे होने पर सभी को बधाई दी।
समारोह के विशिष्ट अतिथि के तौर पर आए केंद्रीय शिक्षा और कौशल विकास एवं उद्यमिता मंत्री धर्मेन्द्र प्रधान ने अपने संबोधन में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के 100 वर्ष पूरे होने पर कुलपति, सभी पूर्व कुलपतियों, पूर्व शिक्षकों, वर्तमान शिक्षकों, विद्यार्थियों व डीयू से जुड़े सभी गैर शिक्षक कर्मचारियों सहित डीयू की कैंटीनों में काम करने वाले लोगों को भी बधाई दी। उन्होने कहा कि दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के निर्माण व 100 वर्ष की सफल विकास यात्रा में इन सभी लोगों का अहम योगदान है। उन्होने कहा कि पुरातन विश्वविद्यालयों के तो नाम ही हमारे सामने हैं, लेकिन देश में 100 वर्ष की उम्र पूरी कर चुके बहुत कम संस्थान मौजूद हैं जिनमें दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय भी एक है। उन्होने डीयू को जीवंत विश्वविद्यालय की संज्ञा देते हुए कहा कि हमारी आजादी का इतिहास इस संस्थान से जुड़ा रहा है। शहीद भगत ने एक रात इस संस्थान में गुजारी। महात्मा गांधी इसके सेंट स्टीफन कालेज में रहे।
धर्मेन्द्र प्रधान ने कहा कि भविष्य में हमें रोजगार तलाशने वाले नहीं बल्कि रोजगार पैदा करने वाले बनना होगा और दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय का इसमें अहम योगदान होगा। उन्होने कहा कि देश के अमृतकाल में डीयू अपना शताब्दी वर्ष मना रहा है। जब देश अपनी आजादी के 100 वर्ष मनाएगा तो डीयू अपनी स्थापना के 125 वर्ष मना रहा होगा। अगले 25 वर्षों में डीयू को शोध के क्षेत्र में बहुत कुछ करना होगा। उन्होने डीयू की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि देश में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति 2020 को डीयू ने सबसे पहले अपनाया है और केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालयों के लिए एकल प्रवेश परीक्षा को लागू करने में भी पहल की है। इसके लिए उन्होने डीयू को भी बधाई दी। उन्होने देश में नए पाठ्यक्रम के लिए भी डीयू से योगदान का आह्वान किया। उन्होने कहा कि नई शिक्षा नीति भारत की शिक्षा को जड़ों से जोड़ेगी और वैश्विक स्तर पर शिक्षा का भारतीय मॉडल स्थापित करेगी। अपने संबोधन के अंत में उन्होने डीयू के शताब्दी समारोह के आयोजन को लेकर सभी को बधाई दी।
दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रो. योगेश सिंह ने डीयू के 100वें स्थापना दिवस पर पहुंचे सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत किया। उन्होने अपने अध्यक्षीय भाषण में डीयू की स्थापना को लेकर कानूनी प्रक्रियाओं से लेकर इसके 100 वर्षों के स्वर्णिम इतिहास पर भी प्रकाश डाला। उन्होने बताया एक मई 1922 को 750 विद्यार्थियों व केवल तीन महाविद्यालयों के साथ शुरू हुआ यह विश्वविद्यालय आज देश-दुनिया का प्रतिष्ठित विश्वविद्यालय बन चुका है। आज डीयू में 6 लाख 6 हजार 228 विद्यार्थी, 90 कॉलेज, 16 फ़ैकल्टी और हजारों शिक्षक हैं। 40 हजार के बजट से शुरू हुआ यह विश्वविद्यालय आज 838 करोड़ से अधिक के बजट पर पहुँच चुका है। कुलपति ने डीयू की उपलब्धियां गिनवाते हुए बताया कि इन 100 वर्षों में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय देश के हर घर और हर मन तक पहुँच चुका है। उन्होने कहा कि अगले 25 वर्षों में डीयू को बहुत कुछ करना होगा। शताब्दी समारोह से पूर्व सुबह कुलपति प्रो. योगेश सिंह ने डीयू परिसर में नए स्थापित हुए 165 फुट ऊंचे राष्ट्र ध्वज को भी फहराकर उद्घाटन किया। समारोह के दौरान भारतीय डाक विभाग की दिल्ली मण्डल की चीफ पोस्ट मास्टर जनरल सुश्री मंजु कुमार, डीन ऑफ कॉलेजज प्रो. बलराम पाणी, डायरेक्टर साउथ कैंपस प्रो. श्री प्रकाश सिंह, रजिस्ट्रार डॉ. विकास गुप्ता, समारोह समिति की कनवीनर प्रो. नीरा अग्निमित्रा, प्रोक्टर प्रो. रजनी अब्बी, डीयू पीआरओ श्री अनूप लाठर, एनएसयूटी के कुलपति प्रो. जेपी सैनी, अंबेडकर विश्वविद्यालय की कुलपति प्रो. अनु सिंह लाठर, डीपीएसआरयू कुलपति प्रो. रमेश कुमार गोयल, आईआईआईटी सोनीपत के डायरेक्टर प्रो. एमएन दोजा व श्री जगदीश मित्तल आदि सहित विश्वविद्यालया के पूर्व कुलपति, पूर्व शिक्षक, वर्तमान शिक्षक, गैर शिक्षक वर्ग, अनेकों गणमान्य व्यक्ति एवं विद्यार्थी उपस्थित थे।
डीयू के शताब्दी समारोह में ये हुई नई शुरुआत
शताब्दी समारोह के दौरान मुख्यातिथि एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने अपने हाथों से डीयू पर एक डाक टिकट भी जारी किया। इसके साथ ही दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय का शताब्दी स्मारक सिक्का भी जारी किया गया। चित्रों के माध्यम से डीयू के 100 वर्ष के इतिहास पर आधारित एक शताब्ती स्मारिका भी जारी की गई। डीयू की पूरी जानकारी से भरे ब्रोसर को जारी भी किया गया। एनईपी 2020 पर आधारी कैरीकुलम फ्रेमवर्क को हिन्दी, संस्कृत एवं तेलुगू भाषा में मुख्यातिथि ने अपने हाथों से जारी किया। इसके साथ ही डीयू की शताब्दी वेबसाइट का शुभारंभ भी मुख्यातिथि ने अपने हाथों से रिमोट के द्वारा किया। डीयू के इतिहास व उपलब्धियों को लेकर 100 वर्ष की यात्रा पर एक 100 सेकंड की डाक्यूमेंटरी फिल्म भी जारी की गई। इसके अलावा मुख्यातिथि ने डीयू शताब्दी लोगो को डिजाइन करने वाली गार्गी कालेज की विद्यार्थी कर्तिका खिंची को भी सम्मानित किया।

The centenary celebrations of Delhi University were inaugurated by the Vice President of India and Chancellor of Delhi University, Hon'ble M. Venkaiah Naidu by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address as the chief guest on this occasion, he called upon the University of Delhi to play an important role in making India a world leader again. Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan was present with him as the guest of honour in the function. The function was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh.
It is noteworthy that Delhi University was established on May 1, 1922 and on May 1, 2022, the centenary celebrations of the establishment of the university were organized in the DU campus. During the ceremony, Chief Guest M. Venkaiah Naidu, while talking about India's global reputation in the field of education in the past, gave examples of universities like Nalanda, Taxila, Vikramshila etc. where students from all corners of the world used to come to take education. He called upon the University of Delhi to become the world leader of India in future. He said that we have to become Vishwaguru but it is not our aim to capture someone and neither have we ever done so in the past. Giving happiness to others and establishing global peace is our motto. He told that Delhi University has also played an important role in the freedom movement.
The chief guest said that education is a medium to increase knowledge. He said that universities should become centers of excellence, not just centers of education. We have to become the center of knowledge and be among the top 10 institutions of the world. We have to overcome poverty and illiteracy and bridge the gap between the rural and the urban areas. For this, universities have to take the lead. The Blueprint of National Education Policy-2020 will change the landscape of education and establish new dimensions with the holistic development of reading and learning in the true sense. Calling for promotion of regional education and mother tongue, he said that for this, provision of elementary education in the mother tongue has been made in the National Education Policy.
He also stressed on the need for the protection of culture and nature. Giving the example of the Corona epidemic era, he said that during this epidemic, less impact was seen in the village areas while people in the cities were more affected by the epidemic. Behind that, the reason, he told, was because the rural people stay close to nature and work hard. Emphasizing on physical exercises, he said that it creates mental agility too.
The Vice President said that although everything is available in India, but still those who want to go abroad should go there, but should learn and come back to promote research in India. The goal of research should be to reform, perform and transform so that people's lives can be comfortable and happy. That, he said, should be the aim of education. He called upon DU to promote research and improve its global ranking. Along with this, he congratulated everyone on the completion of 100 years of Delhi University.
Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who came as the guest of honour of the function, in his address, on the completion of 100 years of Delhi University, congratulated the Vice Chancellor, all former Vice Chancellors, former teachers, current teachers, students and all non-teachers associated with DU. He also congratulated the people working in DU canteens including the employees. He said that all these people have an important contribution in the construction of Delhi University and the successful journey of 100 years of development. He said that only the names of ancient universities are in front of us, but there are very few institutions which have completed 100 years of age in the country, in which Delhi University is also one. Describing DU as a vibrant university, he said that the history of our independence has been associated with this institution. Shaheed Bhagat Singh spent a night in this institution. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in its St. Stephen's College.
Dharmendra Pradhan said that in future we will have to become job creators and not job seekers and Delhi University will play an important role in this. He said that DU is celebrating its centenary year in the Amrit Mahotsav of the country. When the country celebrates 100 years of its independence, DU will be celebrating 125 years of its establishment. DU will have to do a lot in the field of research in the next 25 years. Appreciating DU, he said that DU is the first to adopt National Education Policy 2020 in the country and has also taken initiative in implementing Single Entrance Test for Central Universities. He also congratulated DU for this. He also called upon DU to contribute for the new curriculum in the country. He said that the national education policy will connect India's education with its roots and establish an Indian model of education at the global level. At the end of his address, he congratulated everyone for organizing the centenary celebrations of DU.
Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh welcomed all the guests who arrived on the 100th foundation day of DU. In his presidential address, he also highlighted the golden history of 100 years from the legal procedures for the establishment of DU. He told that this university, which started on May 1, 1922 with 750 students and only three colleges, has become a prestigious university of the country and the world. Today there are 6 lakh 6 thousand 228 students, 90 colleges, 16 faculty and thousands of teachers in DU. This university, which started with a budget of 40 thousand, has today reached a budget of more than 838 crores. Counting the achievements of DU, the Vice Chancellor said that in these 100 years, Delhi University has reached every home and every mind of the country. He said that DU will have to do a lot in the next 25 years. In the morning before the centenary celebrations, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh also hoisted the newly installed 165 feet high national flag at the DU campus. During the ceremony, Chief Post Master General of Delhi Division of Indian Postal Department, Ms. Manju Kumar, Dean of Colleges Prof. Balaram Pani, Director South Campus Prof. Shri Parkash Singh, Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta, Convener of Centenray Celebration Committee Prof. Neera Agnimitra, Proctor Prof. Rajni Abbi, DU PRO Mr. Anoop Lather, NSUT Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Saini, Vice Chancellor of Ambedkar University Prof. Anu Singh Lather, DPSRU Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Kumar Goel, Director, IIIT Sonepat Prof. MN Doja and Shri Jagdish Mittal etc., including former Vice Chancellors of the University, former teachers, current teachers, non-teaching staff, many dignitaries and students were present.
This is the new beginning in the centenary celebrations of DU
During the centenary celebrations, Chief Guest M. Venkaiah Naidu also released a postage stamp on DU with his own hands. Along with this, the centenary commemorative coin of Delhi University was also released. A commemorative centenary volume based on 100 years of DU's history through pictures was also released. A brochure filled with complete information of DU was also released. The Curriculum Framework based on NEP 2020 was released by the Chief Guest in Hindi, Sanskrit and Telugu languages. Along with this, the chief guest also launched the centenary website of DU with a remote with his own hands. A 100 second documentary film on the journey of 100 years on the history and achievements of DU was also released. Apart from this, the chief guest also honored Kartika Khinchi, the student of Gargi College, who designed the DU Centenary logo.
